The agreement
Not tax or financial advice
CalcGST provides general information and calculation tools only. Nothing on this site is tax, accounting, financial or legal advice, and nothing here takes account of your particular circumstances.
Before you rely on a figure or a document produced here, check the ATO’s own guidance at ato.gov.au or speak to a registered tax agent. Registered agents are listed on the Tax Practitioners Board register.
Accuracy
The arithmetic is tested and we work in whole cents precisely so the figures reconcile. Even so, the tools are provided as is, without warranty. You are responsible for checking any figure before you invoice, pay or lodge on the strength of it.
GST rates, thresholds and invoice requirements are set by government and can change. We maintain this site, but it is not the legislation and may lag a change.
Your content
The details you enter stay on your device. We neither receive nor store them, so we cannot recover them for you — if you clear your browser data, your saved business details are gone. Keep your own copies of any invoice that matters.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Star Shop com is not liable for any loss arising from use of this site, including from a figure, document or statement produced by it. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Acceptable use
- Use the tools for lawful purposes.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the site or use it to produce documents that misrepresent a transaction.
- Issuing a document headed tax invoice showing GST when you are not registered for GST is not something this site supports — the tools deliberately change the document when you indicate you are not registered.
Third-party links
We link to government sources such as ato.gov.au and abr.business.gov.au for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
